I am here is 3 weeks of presence, play, and connection.
Life can get so busy and buzzy...or maybe just time and responsibilities accumulate in such a way that we can forget that we are here. Breathe into that word: here. What does it bring up for you? Have you been "here" in a while? Let's get together and play with prompts that will bring us into the present.
I am here is a chance to make marks and messes and connect with freedom and reckless abandon (two of my favorite things!) Through this process, we are focusing on feeling and being...getting comfy with doing just what you want to do and how it feels to make this kind of space for yourself.
This experience, it isn't about learning a technique, though you can use it for that, if you're working on something. It is really about process and play. We are ditching any notions of perfection. There are no "shoulds" allowed.
When:
August 15 - September 3
What you can expect:
Over the three weeks you will receive one daily prompt in word or phrase, along with a short note, in your email. You will respond to it in your art journal with the materials you have gathered and then share them, if you please. The goal is to just do it. It's all about the process, rather than the product. We are going to engage in irreverent, reckless, unapologetic mark making abandon. It doesn't have to be pretty, or well put together.
It is a gentle 3 weeks of practice to feel your feelings, make your marks, and engage and give space to your intuition and unique sense of knowing.
Community:
We will support each other in a few ways: There will be a Slack group, where I'll pop in daily to share my work and encourage you on your journey. You are in charge of how much or little you share your pieces in the community, and though our process is 3 weeks, you can move at your own pace and share at your own pace as well. We honor the rhythm of the group.
Register:
To register, you need only to click the button below. I will add you to the Slack group a couple days early to give you a chance to step in to the place and introduce yourself if you so desire. You really can go as simple or elaborate as you'd like.
Registration is $75.
