"Venus rising" is inspired by the famous "Rebirth of Venus," by Botticelli. In my interpretation, Venus has maybe just awakened. Her room is brightly decorated and she has a sign that reads' "Hello sunshine."I created this piece just before the November 2018 elections which yielded the largest number of women and women of color voted into Congress. This piece feels like it was a prediction of what was coming!
